Service Template

Overview: The Service Template doctype allows you to create predefined templates for service operations within the Service Management module. These templates define the tasks, parts, and pricing associated with a particular service offering.

Fields:

  1. Template Name

    • Label: Template Name
    • Description: Enter the name or description of the service template.
    • Example: "Standard Maintenance Service", "Brake System Inspection"
  2. Item

    • Fieldtype: Link to Item
    • Label: Item
    • Description: Select the item associated with the service template.
    • Options: Items available in the system.
    • Required: Yes
  3. Is Billable

    • Fieldtype: Check
    • Label: Is Billable
    • Description: Check this box if the service template is billable.
    • Default: No
  4. Disabled

    • Fieldtype: Check
    • Label: Disabled
    • Description: Check this box to disable the service template.
    • Default: No
  5. Price List

    • Fieldtype: Link to Price List
    • Label: Price List
    • Description: Select the price list associated with the service template.
    • Options: Price lists available in the system.
  6. Service Template Parts and Consumable

    • Fieldtype: Table
    • Label: Service Template Parts and Consumable
    • Description: Define the parts and consumables required for the service template.
    • Options: Parts and consumables available in the system.
  7. Service Template Task

    • Fieldtype: Table
    • Label: Service Template Task
    • Description: Define the tasks to be performed as part of the service template.
    • Options: Tasks available in the system.
    • Required: Yes

Usage:

  1. Navigate to the Service Management module.
  2. Select "Service Template" from the list of available doctypes.
  3. Click on "New" to create a new service template.
  4. Enter the template name in the "Template Name" field.
  5. Select the item associated with the template in the "Item" field.
  6. Check the "Is Billable" box if the service is billable.
  7. Define the parts and consumables required in the "Service Template Parts and Consumable" table.
  8. Define the tasks to be performed in the "Service Template Task" table.
  9. Save the record.

Notes:

  • Each service template represents a predefined set of tasks, parts, and pricing for a specific service offering.
  • Use the "Template Name" field to provide a descriptive name for the service template.
  • Parts, tasks, and pricing can be adjusted for each service template as needed.
  • The "Disabled" field can be used to deactivate a service template without deleting it.
